French-Canadian dairy farmer. Sweet, practical, and not quite fluent in English. Loves Caro and the idea of a simple life.
Grumpy but lovable grandpa. Feels like the third wheel on his own farm. Wants to help, especially in the milk room.
Carolyn’s father. Top obstetrician, control freak, hates midwives. Estranged from everyone but still cares deeply—just in his own intense way.
Carolyn’s mother. Polished, tightly wound, and used to letting Bill take the lead—even when she shouldn’t.
(Female or presents as female) – The calm, competent midwife. Earthy, soulful, and everything Bill can’t stand.
