The company is holding auditions for "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum" show and looking for performers, please see the details below About the project: It’s a comedy tonight in Sondheim’s zany, hysterical, Tony Award-winning musical romp. In one of the greatest musical comedies of all time, three households reside next to each other in ancient Rome. Just outside their doors, the exploits of a quick-thinking Roman slave, a braggart soldier, a beautiful courtesan, a lovesick young man and others devolve into uproarious chaos in a fast-paced, witty and monumental escapade. With mistaken identities, wily ruses, madcap chases, a love story, and a happy ending of course, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum’s audacious and irreverent spectacle has something for everyone. Additional info: Please bring a headshot, resume, music and a list of possible conflicts. It is recommended to come warmed up prior to the audition. Please plan to arrive at the start time and to stay until the end. Prepare: 1 song selection showcasing your range, in the style of or from the show, in any length. There will be an accompanist, so please bring sheet music. Sides will be provided at the audition **Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for the dance portion of the audition

(baritone or alto) A member of the acting troupe who introduces the play and then portrays Pseudolus, a sly and scheming slave owned by Hero. He will do anything to win his freedom and that desire fuels the action of the play. Casting is open to both male and female actors.
(baritone) The nervous and anxious chief slave who works in the same house as Pseudolus. He wants to please his masters, but finds himself drawn into bad behavior by Pseudolus and fretting when everything goes wrong.
(baritone) Father of Hero and the perennially henpecked and weary husband, married to a shrewish and demanding wife.
(tenor) The handsome son of Senex and Domina; a lovesick young man who enters into a plan with his slave Pseudolus to win the hand of his beloved Philia.
(baritone or alto) The owner of the local brothel, Lycus is a shrewd dealmaker who is always out to make a buck. Casting is open to both male and female actors.
(baritone or tenor) A befuddled old man who is partially blind and always confused. He spends most of the play looking for his children who were kidnapped by pirates.
(baritone or bass) A roman soldier who is handsome, strong, and pompous and completely in love with himself.
(soprano) The girl Hero loves. She is young, beautiful, sweet and completely brainless. She has been sold to Miles Gloriosus, but yearns to be with Hero.
(mezzo soprano or alto) The overbearing and shrewish wife of Senex, she has spent her life domineering her husband and smothering her son.
(various vocal parts) Women of the House of Marcus Lycus
(various vocal parts) Featured roles that appear throughout the show as various characters. Casting open to both male and female actors.
