Seeking Performers for "Murder of the Orient Express" Show
The company is holding auditions for "Murder of the Orient Express" show and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: In this Agatha Christie classic, a group of passengers board the revered Orient Express on a journey across Europe. On the way, the train gets stuck amidst the snow and a murder of one of the passengers is carried out. It is up to the famed world famous detective Hercule Poirot to solve this mystery and uncover the truth. Rate: All roles are volunteer and NON-AEA. Additional info: REHEARSALS: First rehearsal will begin on Sunday, September 21st. Then all rehearsals afterwards will be Mon-Thurs from 6:30-9:30pm. Not everyone will be called on all days. TECH WEEK: Oct. 19-Oct. 23 from 6:30-9:30pm PERFORMANCES: Oct. 24 at 7:30pm, Oct. 25 at 2pm, and Oct. 26 at 2pm. Prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue. In addition, you may also select one of the selected slides (see below) of the character of your choosing for a cold read. The cold read is OPTIONAL. It is not required but it is recommended. No memorization required for the cold read portion. Provide a 1 to 2 minute video performing a contemporary monologue of your choosing. OPTIONAL: You may also provide a video performing a cold read from one of the selected sides from the play with a character of your choosing. No memorization required and you are not required to film both the monologue/sides in one shooting. Alternatively you may edit both separately or send them individually. The cold read is not required but recommended. Please apply if interested.

(Belgian) The world-renowned Belgian detective with a mix of Intelligence and meticulous attention to detail. He possesses a dry sense of humor and a strong moral compass. His demeanor is distinct and refined. He acts as the central figure of this mystery.
(Belgian) The director of the Wagon Lit train company and Poirot’s friend. Energetic, lively, and possesses a bit of showmanship. He brings a bit of comic relief while also being sincere in his desire to help Poirot solve the case.
(British) A calm, collected English governess. Intelligent, guarded, and cool under pressure. She hides deep emotions and a mysterious past. On the side, she has a romantic connection to Colonel Arbuthnot, one that is hidden from the public eye.
(Scottish) A handsome, upstanding military officer. Proud, principled, and reserved. He displays loyalty and affection specifically for Mary Debenham. Under the pressure of the investigation, he has his moments of frustration and anger.
(Russian) A wealthy, aristocratic Russian princess. Authoritative and formidable in appearance. She commands the room with her regal voice and appearance. She possesses an intimidating and imposing presence and is often emotionally cold.
(Swedish) A nervous and delicate Swedish missionary/nurse, she’s emotionally sensitive and oftentimes easily flustered. She’s deeply religious and kind-hearted in nature while also hiding an internal conflict in the case.
(Hungarian) Beautiful, graceful, and elegant. Her looks and demeanor bring a warm and inviting vibe. She’s smart, poised, and surprisingly resourceful. Has a mysterious and tragic past that links her to the crime.
(American) A loud, flamboyant American woman from Minnesota. Often brash, and attention-seeking. She’s chatty and flirtatious but ultimately reveals surprising depth and sincerity. Requires excellent comedic timing.
(French) The conductor of the train. Hardworking and professional, with a thick French accent. Has a surprising emotional connection to the murder case. *Could double as Head Waiter*
A rough, sinister American businessman. Has an imposing presence and a shady past. Forceful and demanding, he’s generally unliked by most in the public eye on appearance alone. He’s the victim of the murder. *Could double as Colonel Arbuthnot*
