Actors needed for “Custody” a 12 minute dramatic short film. ONLY LOCAL, DC & VA TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the roles below. About the project: Set in Pittsburgh in 1973, it explores the loss of innocence as a young boy discovers that his grandfather is involved with organized crime. Rate: Actors will be paid between $100-$150 per day depending on role and time commitment. Background extras: volunteer. Meals will be provided on set. Nick’s mother. Italian American. Harried mother caught between loving her father and sheltering her child from his grandfather’s legacy of illegal activity. Commitment is 2 shooting days in May or early June.
Age: 60s-70s. Patty's father/Nick’s grandfather. Italian American, businessman with ties to organized crime. Teddy-bear under a tough façade that breaks when he’s around his family. Was just sentenced to 7 years in federal prison and doesn’t know if he’ll live to see freedom again. But he must bear the thought of spending time away from family in his elder years. Commitment is 1 shooting day in May or early June.
Nick’s father/Patty’s husband. A professional who seeks to navigate the sensitivities of his wife’s disappointment while disassociating from Eugene, his father-in-law, especially after news of his sentencing. Commitment is 1 shooting day in May or early June.
Eugene’s lawyer. A shyster in a suit who knows his way around a bribe or two. Just lost his biggest client and tucks his tail between his legs when breaking the news to Patty. Commitment is 1 shooting day in May or early June.
A mysterious suited man straight from the academy.Observes Eugene’s visit with his family and tries his best to avoid Eugene’s tender charm around his grandson. Commitment is 1 shooting day in May or early June.
