6 roles
(Lead) A young man in his early 20s, disheveled and burnt out. He tries to maintain control and professionalism, but underneath it all, he’s mentally unraveling and looking for a performer comfortable carrying scenes solo and portraying both grounded emotion and surreal detachment.
(Supporting) One of Josh’s hallucinated students. Calm, enthusiastic, and oddly supportive. This role involves expressive reactions and strong nonverbal performance.
(Supporting) Another hallucinated student. Friendly and curious. Offers light comic relief in one key moment. Strong facial expression and timing needed.
(Supporting) The third imagined student. Observant and quiet, but always present. This role is mainly nonverbal—looking for subtle performers with strong screen presence.
(Supporting) Josh’s co-worker, who walks in during the final scene and sees the chaos. Grounded, practical, and the only truly “real” character besides Josh. Needs to sell the shift in tone with subtle realism.
(Day Player) A brief comedic role. Walks by the classroom, notices something strange, and mutters a single line. Great for someone with good timing and character energy.
