About the project: Get ready to kick off your Sunday shoes and dance the night away in Footloose! This high-energy musical brings the classic 1980s film to life on stage with unforgettable music, electrifying dance numbers, and a heartwarming story of rebellion, friendship, and self-expression. Join Ren McCormack as he challenges the small town of Bomont to loosen up and embrace the power of music and dance in this toe-tapping, feel-good production! Rate: Please note that productions are non-equity and no housing is provided or available.* Compensation for this production will be 2 comp tickets per performer. Additional info: Callbacks (if needed): Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 6:00 PM Please be prepared to: Sing 16-20 bars of a song of your choice. A pop song in a similar style of the show is preferred. You must sing with our provided accompaniment or with a device you provide. No a cappella auditions will be allowed. Complete a dance audition, taught by the show choreographer (dress appropriately) Read provided selections from the script Fill out a conflict sheet at auditions (be as specific as possible about conflicts throughout the rehearsal period) Rehearsals and Performances Rehearsals will begin on Monday, May 12. Tech week will be from Saturday, June 7, through Thursday, June 12, 2025. No absences will be accepted during tech week or performances. Tenor. Energetic, emotional, rebellious, likable; emotes his pain through quirky sarcasm and dance; strong dancer.
Baritone. The powerful, traditional local church leader; strict, stern, and solemn, still struggling with the death of his son.
Mezzo-Pop. Smart, a bit of the bad girl with an edge, sweet, the rebellious minister’s daughter; the role requires a strong belt, and must be a strong singer/dancer.
Soprano. Reverend Moore’s loving, supportive, resilient wife.
Great soprano/pop voice. Ariel’s friend; is a bit scatterbrained, sweet, fun, and knows everything about everything; the role requires a strong belt, strong comedic timing, and dance.
Tenor. A simple country bumpkin with a warm heart and a big smile; comedic timing and dance are a must.
Soprano. Ren’s mother; had a tough go, just trying to make it…would do anything for her son.
Tenor. The local bad boy and Ariel’s boyfriend.
Mezzo/Alto. Ariel’s friend; the smart one of the group; the role requires a strong belt, comedic timing, and dance.
Mezzo. Ariel’s friend; strong belt, comedic timing, and dance required.
