Originally from Northern Europe (German). Mark is a classically attractive, well-mannered young man. He studied at university in both Europe and Toronto, and has been living in Vancouver for the past four years, working full-time. He tends to be pragmatic and serious, and often comes across as distant or emotionally reserved.
Originally from Latin America, Maria is new to the city, here on a work/study visa. She's currently studying graphic design and photography while balancing two jobs, working as a bicycle delivery person and at an art gallery. Resourceful and driven, she's adjusting to a new environment while pursuing her creative goals.
A Mediterranean European immigrant with a distinct accent. This character finds herself caught between Maria and Mark, unintentionally becoming a pivot point in their miscommunication. Curious and perceptive, she tries to make sense of the tension unfolding between them, without fully understanding what's going on.
