About the project: It's 1979, and New York's hottest A-listers are lining up for the opening of a floating casino and discotheque. Their night of boogie fever, however, quickly changes to panic as the ship succumbs to multiple disasters in this hilarious homage to disaster movies in the era of bell-bottoms, platform shoes, and the hustle, featuring some of the most recognizable songs of the '70s! Disaster! will have you dancing in your seat and rolling in the aisles. Additional info: Bring a prepared verse/chorus of an UPBEAT / BELTING Song of the 1970s era. - Highlighting your power and range - Bring your own sheet music or vocal track - An accompanist will be provided. FEEL FREE TO PREPARE ONE OF THE SONGS FEATURED IN THE SHOW!! No acapella auditions, please. Songs will be followed with a simple dance audition and cold readings from the script. REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will take place from 6:00/6:30 pm - 9:00/9:30 pm starting on Wednesday, May 28th. Regular rehearsal period will be Monday through Thursday nights. The only exception is that there will be NO rehearsal on Friday, July 4th PERFORMANCES: July 10 - 27, 2025. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm & Sundays at 2:30 pm. If interested, please apply.
