About the project: Synopsis: Set against the backdrop of a full orchestra, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR follows the final week of Jesus Christ’s life, delving into the complexities of his relationships with his disciples, followers, and the Roman Empire. The concert version will bring to life the rock opera's unforgettable score, featuring powerful numbers like "I Don't Know How to Love Him," "Gethsemane," and "Superstar". JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is the first musical that Andrew Lloyd Webber and Time Rice produced for a professional stage, over 50 years ago. It is a timeless classic, that continues to touch new generations of audiences and performers, over and over again. Additional info: Due to the historical nature of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, all roles are either male or female presenting. Come prepared with 16 bars of an appropriate song and sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Directors are pleased to make a virtual audition option available. However, preference will be extended to those that attend the in person audition. While directors understand that not everyone can attend, In-person auditions will almost always be considered for casting over virtual submissions. Callbacks: TBD. Rehearsals: May 12 - June 13, 2025 In general, rehearsals will be held Sunday 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm and Monday through Thursday 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm. All actors are not called for all rehearsals. Actual schedule will be determined once the show is cast. Performance: June 14, 2025 at The Palladium, 7:00 PM In the event that sales indicate it's appropriate, they reserve the right to add a performance on June 15th at 2:00 PM. Tenor (A2-G5) - Leader of the twelve Apostles, a man, called the "Son of God" and the "King of the Jews."
Tenor (D3-D5) - Arguably the antagonist of the show. One of the twelve apostles of Jesus; concerned for the poor and the consequences of Jesus' fame.
Mezzo Soprano (F3 - D#5/Eb5) - A female follower of Jesus who finds herself falling in love with him. The roles requires an actress that can show grace, stability, weakness and compassion.
Tenor (C3 - G4) - The King of Galilee; Jesus is brought to him for judgement after first being taken to Pilate.
Tenor (G2 - G4) - One of Jesus' twelve apostles; denies Jesus three times upon the night of Jesus' arrest to save himself.
Baritone (A2 - B4) - Governor of Judea who forces the events of Jesus' crucifixion from the beginning to aftermath in a dream and finds himself being presented with that very situation.
Tenor (G3 - B4) - One of Jesus' twelve apostles; urges Jesus to lead his followers into battle against the Romans.
