As the preparations reach their fever pitch, her estranged mother, Maya, materializes on the doorstep with a piano—a gift that resonates with painful history. As childhood melodies and sobering memories collide, Asha must decide if the wounds etched into her heart are too deep to allow for the possibility of healing. Rate: $241/day + 10%. Asha’s meticulous and commanding presence rules both her professional and home life with military precision, masking a deep vulnerability beneath her that stemmed from cutting her mom off 10 years ago. (Will work 3 days)
(SUPPORTING) To portray an Indian-American woman who is a retired musician. She is free-spirited but grounded. Her daughter, Asha, cut her off 10 years ago due to her opioid addiction. Maya has since healed and respected Asha’s request to stay away. Having recently received an early diagnosis of dementia, Maya is determined to reconnect with Asha to create happy memories before she loses everything. (Will work 3 days)
