About the project: Based on Louisa May Alcott’s American classic which inspired the 2020 Academy Award winning, blockbuster film, Little Women follows the adventures of the four March sisters – traditional Meg, wild Jo, timid Beth and romantic Amy, and their beloved Marmee at home in Concord, Massachusetts, while their father is away serving in the Civil War. This timeless, captivating story promises an evening filled with laughter, tears and a lifting of the spirit. The powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope – the sounds of a young America finding its voice. Additional info: CALLBACKS: Wednesday, May 7, beginning at 6:30pm PERFORMANCE DATES: July 25-August 10, 2025 (Thurs-Sat at 7:30pm, Sun at 2pm) REHEARSALS: Begin in late May/early June, and typically run 2-3 weeknights (TBD) and Sunday afternoons. All cast members may not be required at every rehearsal. Prepare the song listed in the Character Breakdown based upon the role(s) you’re interested in. Range: E3-A5 (Mezzo Soprano) Our story’s protagonist. Passionate, adventurous, and brave. She has the idea of writing Little Women and eventually becomes engaged to Professor Bhaer.

Range: A#3-Gb5 (Soprano) The world-weary, yet hopeful, oldest sister who yearns for a great life. She marries John and has twins with him. Will double as Clarissa.

BETH MARCHFemale18-21 y.o.All ethnicities

Range: A3-G5 (Soprano) The second youngest sister who tragically dies of Scarlet Fever. Peace-maker, lover, and an optimist who is always encouraging her sisters to dream. Will double as Rodrigo II.

MARMEE MARCHFemale45-55 y.o.All ethnicities

Range: Eb3-Eb5 (Mezzo Soprano) The girls’ mother. She is the strong backbone of the family, who is courageous in spite of the difficult odds she faces. Will double as Hag.

Range: Bb2-Bb4 (Tenor) The bright-eyed boy-next-door with considerable charm. He loves Jo but later falls in love with Amy.

Range: G2-F#4 (Baritone) German Professor who exemplifies proper manners. He is a boarder in Mrs. Kirk’s boarding house and eventually falls in love with Jo. Speaks with a German accent.

Range: E3-F5 (Mezzo Soprano) A formidable, over-bearing matron and great-aunt to the March sisters. The wealthy socialite in town. Will double as Mrs. Kirk.
