Theatre Casting Call for "A New Brain" Show
Auditions for "A New Brain" show. Seeking cast. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Gordon collapses into his lunch and awakes in the hospital, surrounded by his maritime-enthusiast lover, his mother, a co-worker, the doctor, and the nurses. Reluctantly, he had been composing a song for a children’s television show that features a frog – Mr. Bungee – and the specter of this large green character and the unfinished work haunts him throughout his medical ordeal. Additional info: Please prepare 16-24 bars of a contemporary musical theatre piece. An accompanist will be available, as well as a speaker for use of recorded tracks. Audition forms will be provided. Gordon is a pianist. Please note that ability to play the piano would be an asset to this character, but piano playing may be pantomimed if necessary. Mr. Bungee is technically a fictional character. Please note that experience with puppeteering would be an asset to this character, but not required. Those auditioning for Mr. Bungee should be comfortable with the possibility of a full body costume. First readthrough will be April 21. Shows: June 6-18, 2025. If you are interested, please apply.
