"Our Friend Mr. Darby" Plot Summary: Two rival hitmen are both contracted to eliminate the same target. When they arrive at the target’s home and discover what has happened, they engage in a friendly competition to see who can land the fatal blow. "A Letter To Lily Hadler" Plot summary: A Letter to Lily Hadler follows Elliot Carter, a failed writer turned English teacher. Elliot’s forced to feign contempt, and to channel his love into secretly writing a heartfelt letter to Lily, even if she never reads it.
