3 roles
QUINN (Lead, 20s-30s, Black, Woman, Natural hair preferred) A talented yet self-doubting painter struggling with imposter syndrome. Quinn is passionate but overwhelmed by the pressure of success. She oscillates between creative inspiration and crippling fear.
BOOEY (Supporting, 20s-30s, Black, Any Gender) A shadowy, puppet-like entity that embodies Quinn’s imposter syndrome. Booey is intimidating, childish, and strangely intimate, a creature that feeds off Quinn’s fears while also being inextricably linked to her artistic process. Notes: The actor for this role should have strong physical performance skills (dance, mime, puppeteering, or movement-based experience preferred). Costume work will be involved.
PAT (Supporting, 30s-50s, Any Gender, Any Ethnicity) Head of the HOA. A chatty and overly curious neighbor who thrives on small talk and unsolicited commentary. Always armed with a clipboard and a keen eye for the slightest neighborhood happenings, they mean well but have a knack for pushing boundaries.
