The company is holding auditions for Summer 2025 Musical "Seussical" and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Additional info: Performing July 25 - 27 & August 1 - 3, 2025 Please prepare 32 bars (approximately one minute) of a musical theatre song. SFA will provide a speaker with an aux cord, please bring your own karaoke track (no a cappella music will be accepted) Callbacks will be by invitation only on Saturday, April 5 (9:00 am-4:00 pm) Rehearsal Schedule: May through July 2025 (Monday/Wednesday evenings & Saturday mornings/early afternoons). All conflicts MUST be listed on audition forms. Tech Week: every night July 21 - 24 (no conflicts allowed) Performances: July 25 - 27 and August 1 - 3 (Friday and Saturday evening performances, Sunday matinees, no conflicts allowed) No rehearsals: May 26, July 5 Please apply if interested.

Our story’s whimsical and mischievous narrator. They are fun loving and have a keen interest in sparking the imaginations in others (even if it causes some trouble). THE CAT is performative, comedic, and omniscient. (Baritone/Tenor, F2-F4)
The child of MR. and MRS. MAYOR, JOJO is an intelligent and creative child who serves as the story’s hero. A “thinker” at heart, he struggles to earn his parents’ approval due to his vivid and colorful imagination. But when his home of Whoville is threatened, he discovers how powerful his voice really is. (Alto, Ab3-C5)
The story’s protagonist. He is compassionate, gentle, and responsible. Throughout the story, his imagination and belief in goodness remain consistent and steadfast. (Baritone, A2-F4)
Due to her “one-feather tail,” she is very self-conscious and neurotic. She pines for the attention of HORTON but is impeded by her nervousness and shy disposition. Despite her awkwardness, she is kind, sweet, and loyal to a fault. (Soprano, F3-F5)
A character foil to GERTRUDE, MAYZIE is selfish, conceited, and manipulative (but not evil). Regarded as very beautiful in the Jungle of Nool, her tail is a source of admiration and jealousy for GERTRUDE. This role will include featured dancing. (Mezzo, G3-Eb5)
A jungle animal who commands a lot of power and sway in the Jungle of Nool. She is loud, brassy, and stubbornly opinionated. A strong stage presence is essential. (Mezzo, F#3-F5)
The Mayor of Whoville and father to JOJO. Having recently been elected, he expects upright behavior from JOJO. He is caring and loving but struggles to understand his child’s newfound “imagination.” (Baritone, C3-A4)
MR. MAYOR’S wife and mother to JOJO. Similar to her husband, she is struggling with raising an imaginative child with “Thinks.” (Mezzo, Ab3-G#5)
A war general who leads a military academy for boys. Strict, rigid, and at times tyrannical, SCHMITZ has a thirst for war and zero tolerance for creativity and imaginative thinking. (Baritone/Tenor, G4- F5)
