Audition for "The Play That Goes Wrong". Looking for males and females. Please see the details below. About the project: Show Synopsis The Play That Goes Wrong is a farcical murder mystery, a play within a play. It is opening night for the Cornley Polytechnic Dramatic Society as they present A Murder at Haversham Manor. From the moment the lights go up, everything that can go wrong, does. The entire cast must work together through missed entrances, missing props, misplaced sound cues, unconscious actors, and a set that literally falls apart. Additional info: Callbacks Monday, March 24th: 7:30 p.m Performance Dates May 23rd through June 8th: Thursday evenings, Friday evenings, Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. Audition Information If possible, please audition on Sunday to allow for more time during callbacks on Monday. The doors will open at 6:30. Please arrive early and fill out your form. Please bring your list of conflicts with you. Your photo will be taken prior to your audition You do not need to print out any scenes, they will all be provided Memorization is not required Audition pairings will be selected at random The majority of characters will speak with a British accent. Plays the role of Thomas Colleymoore – Charles’ old school friend and Florence’s brother. Physical role and stage combat. Must speak in a British accent.

Plays the role of Inspector Carter but is also Head of the Drama Society and Director of the show. Rigid and uptight. He really wants this production to be perfect. Might have to banter with the audience. Must speak in a British accent.

The light and sound operator of The Murder at Haversham Manor. He is easily distracted and does many things he shouldn’t, including interacting with the audience. When things go sideways he is forced to act in the play. He hates acting. He hates actors. Stage intimacy (male/male). American accent.

Plays the role of Perkins – Charles’ butler. Has big words written on his hand and mispronounces them all. He really wants to do a good job in the play and hates it when the audience laughs at his mistakes. Must speak in a British accent.

Plays the role of Cecil Haversham – Charles’ brother, and also Arthur – Charles’ gardener. When he gets a laugh, he breaks the 4th wall and engages with the audience. Physical role, stage intimacy (male/female, male/male), and stage combat. Must speak in a British accent.

The stage manager of The Murder at Haversham Manor. She has the biggest journey of any of the characters. When she has to step in as the leading lady, she is initially terrified by acting but willing to kill for it by the end of the play. Her initial terror turns to joy, and then to fury. Physical role and stage combat. American accent.

SandraFemale20-45 y.o.All ethnicities

Plays the role of Florence Colleymoore – Charles’ fiancee and Thomas’ sister. Extremely physical role. Stage intimacy (male/female) and stage combat. She considers herself a professional actress and tries her best to not let what is happening make her break character. Must speak in a British accent and be comfortable showing underwear and wearing minimal clothing on stage.
