About the play: Decades of obsession over a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a woman in black leads Arthur Kipps to engage a skeptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and finally exorcise the fear that grips his soul. But memory and reality begin to blur – are these lurking shadows a trick of the eye, or a haunting truth that will not be denied? Set on the stage of an old Victorian theatre, The Woman in Black delivers atmosphere, illusion, and gothic horror to give you chills you won’t soon forget! Plays both The Actor and the role of young Kipp. Accent required: British Standard RP. Demonstration of proficiency with dialects is a must. Accent coaching will be provided for actors cast.
Lead. Male Identified. A middle-aged man who is not an actor, but who has written a manuscript of his experiences as a young man with the Woman in Black, with a desire to perform it for his family. Plays a wide variety of roles. Accent required: Multiple accents from the British Isles. Demonstration of proficiency with dialects is a must. Accent coaching will be provided for actors cast.
