Fred is a socially anxious recluse for whom stepping outside feels like a life-or-death situation. His overthinking keeps him isolated, though he craves connection. With a ghost push (sometimes literally), he faces his fears head-on, awkward social interactions and silly walks included, whenever Spooky takes control of his body.
Spooky is a carefree slacker of a ghost who would rather crack jokes than face his own fading existence. Despite his laid-back attitude, he’s desperate to stay in the land of the living, even if it means coaching his friend Fred through his deepest fears.
Cool-headed and independent, Izzie is unfazed by the supernatural but touched by Fred’s effort to finally step out of his comfort zone. She doesn’t need saving or seek to be impressed. She values honesty and courage above all so Fred might stand a chance.
Malcolm is an overeager, well-meaning neighbor who’s just a little too interested in Fred’s dinner party and for good (or bad) reasons. Beneath his friendly demeanor, he’s plotting to steal an old and rare object from Fred’s house. Unaware of Spooky’s presence, he’s in for a shock when the ghost sends him running for his life.
