About the project: The heart warming, Tony Award winning musical about the milkman, Tevye and his family in the Jewish community of Anatevka in Tsarist Russian. Tevye strives to keep up the traditions of his faith and culture against the backdrop of discrimination and prejudice. Rate: This is a volunteer community theater production. Non-Equity. There is no pay. Additional info: RUN: June 28th - August 3rd, 2025 Fridays & Saturdays 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Special performances on Thursday and Sunday nights may be added for private parties and special events. There will be a Special Thursday performance July 3rd, and no performance on July 4th. Callbacks: By Invitation Only. Date: Thursday, May 1st, 2025 Times: 7pm - 11pm REHEARSALS: First Read-Through: Saturday, May 3, 2025; Noon - 4:00pm Regular Rehearsal: Starting Monday, May 5, 2025; Monday - Thursdays (7pm - 10pm); Saturdays (9am - 1pm); and some possible rehearsals Sundays (6pm - 9pm) (Please see beginning rehearsal schedule for specific dates and times.) Location: Long Beach Playhouse Bring headshot and resume. Bring 16 bars of a classic musical theatre song (no Sondheim or Jason Robert Brown, please.) An accompanist will be provided, so please bring sheet music that is in your key, clearly prepared, indicating where you start and stop. No tracks or a cappella. Be prepared to dance. Sides for cold readings will be provided at the auditions/callbacks.
