Robbie is the son of a servant in Cecilia’s household. Despite his humble origins, he is intelligent and hardworking. Due to Briony’s false accusation, Robbie is wrongfully imprisoned, and his once-promising future is completely destroyed. Later, he is forced to join the army and becomes trapped in the brutal reality of war.
Lead, Cecilia comes from the British upper class, and her demeanor and speech often exude the elegance and restraint characteristic of aristocracy. Her love with Robbie is both passionate and shrouded in tragedy.
