About the project: In The 39 Steps, a man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she's a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps” is hot on the man's trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale! Additional info: Callbacks on Tuesday April 1 at 7PM Bring a list of your conflicts to auditions. We are known for accommodating actor schedules and actors are only called to rehearsal as needed. First Read-Through Thursday, April 3 at 7:30PM Rehearsals begin April 7 and are Monday through Thursday from 7:30PM to 10PM. Tech week begins May 18. Attendance is required for all tech week rehearsals and All performances. A small town farmer’s wife who dreams of adventure beyond her everyday life. Must be able to do a Scottish accent. Shy, innocent, and kind.
The leading lady to the end of the story. Witty, classy, and bold. Must be able to do a standard british accent.
Margaret’s jealous husband who is very controlling of his wife. Must be able to do a Scottish accent. Brash, jealous, and skeptical.
A stage performer who has the ability to recall thousands of facts upon demand. Must be able to do a British Cockney accent.
Mr. Memory’s emcee to his act. Must be able to do a British Cockney accent. Loud, outgoing, performative.
The mysteriously mischievous professor who has the key to what the 39 Steps are. Must be able to do British accent.
Must have a radio-style transatlantic accent who reports the latest news on Hannay’s criminal status.
Leading inspector and chasing after Hannay. Must be able to do a British accent.
Multiple characters will be split up depending on how many people audition. Must have a wide range of character acting and accent work. Can be played by either gender.
