"Sound of Music" musical needs cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the details below. Additional info: Casting 12 lead roles plus 12-20 featured roles doubling as an ensemble of nuns, neighbors & festival contestants. Singers may choose to just be in the nun chorus and not in other roles. All ages, genders and experience-levels welcome. NOTE: Ages listed are ages actors will be playing. The actors need not be the same age, but able to portray. The show will be cast to reflect the full diversity of the world today. Rehearsals begin in late April and will include Sunday afternoons and Tues, Wed & Thurs evenings. Not all actors will be called to each rehearsal. Production dates: June 20-29. A postulant at Nonnberg Abbey – spunky, head-strong, free-spirited, warm, gentle and kind with much determination. NOTE: Should be comfortable with on-stage intimacy including possible kisses with Captain von Trapp.
A retired Austrian naval captain. Polished, yet very military in the way he runs his life to repress his sadness over the death of his wife. Underneath, he is warm, understanding, and determined. NOTE: Should be comfortable with on-stage intimacy including possible kisses with Maria.
A charming and vital good friend to Georg, and like an uncle to the children. A man of sophistication who enjoys the good life.
A baroness of taste and elegance, sophisticated, dignified and mature.
