Ulysses' mother and grieving widow, she is a nurse and recent single mother who is overworked and doing the best she can. Open yet burdened, Amara strives to protect Ulysses to the best of her abilities. Despite struggling to understand him, her love for Ulysses is boundless. A STRONG MOVER. Ulysses’ aunt, she is the sister of Ulysses’ father. Tough, fierce yet loving, Aunt Rose is a church-going woman who provides additional support in caring for Ulysses while his mother works. While she loves Ulysses, she doesn’t understand him and is often limited and unable to overlook who he is and who he becomes. A STRONG MOVER. VOCAL RANGE: Thrilling Gospel Soloist Alto/Soprano.
