Auditions for "School of Rock" musical. In need of cast. Please see the breakdown below. About the project: Based on the hit 2003 movie starring Jack Black. Additional info: Needed are 12-15 males/females from ages 18 years-70 years old. Please prepare a Broadway-style song for the audition for all roles except for the roles of Dewey Finn and Headmistress Rosalie Mullins. Anyone wanting to be considered for the role of Dewey Finn should prepare the song “When I Climb To the Top Of Mount Rock” from the show. Anyone wanting to be considered for the role of Headmistress Rosalie Mullins should prepare the song “Where Did the Rock Go?” along with the high coloratura passage from the “Queen of the Night” aria from the show. All three of these required songs are available as karaoke-style backing tracks on Youtube. Everyone should bring their own background tracks for their audition song on their own device. A live accompanist will NOT be provided. A bluetooth speaker will be provided to amplify background tracks. A short dance routine will be taught as part of the audition, so please come in appropriate clothing. Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled every Sunday through Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning April 14, following a first meeting and read through at 6 p.m. on April 1. Performances will be May 30-June 15, 2025 for 9 performances of Fridays-Sundays. If you are interested, please apply.

Onstage Guitar, Rock Tenor, Range B2-E5. A wannabe rock star with big dreams. Dewey finds himself in urgent need of some cash after getting kicked out of his band. He impersonates a teacher to land a job at the prestigious Horace Green prep school. where he turns his class of straight-A students into a rock group and enters them in the Battle of the Bands.
Soprano, Range A3-D6. Proper and a bit uptight. Rosalie is the headmistress of Horace Green School. She has a secret love of rock music and yearns to recapture the carefree spirit of her youth.
Baritone, Range C3-F#4. Ned is an old friend of Dewey's, and the two currently share a flat with Ned's girlfriend Patti. He used to play in Dewey's band, but is now a substitute teacher - who Dewey impersonates to get the job at Horace Green. Ned is still passionate about his music. but tends to let his bossy girlfriend Patti tell him what to do.
Mezzo-Soprano Belt, Range B3-E5. Ned's domineering girlfriend who lives with Ned and Dewey. She calls the shots in their relationship and isn't too happy about Dewey's presence in their flat – or his influence on Ned.
