About the play: Following her parents’ divorce, 13-year-old Nina runs away to join a group of stray dogs in her town. On her journey of self-actualization and acceptance, the looming, ominous presence of a dangerous cryptic creature stalks her, preying on the fear within her deep, dark memories. "Quiltro" is a play that tells the story of adolescence, intergenerational trauma, memory, and belonging. As the story progresses, there are specific calls to forgotten memories and acestral trauma from the 1973 Chilean Coup, as well as it’s connection to Chilean Canadians today.
