With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics adapted from T.S. Eliot's Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the show quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Its Broadway debut in 1982 cemented its legacy, earning seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and holding the record for the longest-running musical for nearly two decades. Songs like “Memory” have become iconic, resonating deeply across generations. This reimagined production honors the show’s rich history while offering a fresh perspective on its enduring themes of community, renewal, and acceptance. Additional info: How to audition: Groups of 15 performers will sing and dance in one-hour blocks. You may audition for a specific role or the ensemble.
