About the project: Set in the 1960s, Hairspray tackles themes of racial segregation and integration, echoing the civil rights struggles that remain relevant today. The musical showcases characters from different racial backgrounds uniting to challenge societal norms, embodying the spirit of unity and acceptance we celebrate during Black History Month.
