About the project: "The Draining" is an exploration of memory, grief, and self-discovery, set against a surreal backdrop that blurs the line between the everyday and the extraordinary. In a world where time and truth are fluid, Maya is guided by ancestral fragments that awaken longings once thought lost. Rate: UNION OR NON-UNION: ACTRA (training agreement)/NON-UNION. $150/day honorarium. Additional information: FILMING DATES: April 19th & 20th. LOCATION: Shearwater, NS (please specify if you will require transportation). DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: WEDNESDAY FEB 26TH. Maya is an emotionally complex, introspective woman, navigating her world with a sense of internal withdrawal, governed by the male gaze. Reconciling with a past that is elusive and fragmented, Maya’s journey will take her from resignation to rediscovery, and curiosity. V.O elements included.
(Non-dyed hair) The Elderly Women are three ageless, serene figures who serve as guiding forces in Maya’s journey. They embody wisdom, patience, and the cyclical nature of life and healing. Their presence is nurturing, powerful and deeply connected to the emotional arc of the story. V.O elements included.
