About the project: A struggling comedian, Martin, gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he gets the chance to compete in a high-stakes comedy competition. Desperate to get a break, he marches forward only to discover the sinister truth behind the competition. Trapped in an exploitative nightmare, Martin learns the true cost of fame and fortune. Martin is a young man trying to chase his dream while getting the family he lost back together. Martin loves cracking jokes and being light-hearted. His now separated wife Tina, could never get Martin to take things seriously and set actual goals that can push their family into a successful life. Martin wants to prove that his dream can provide enough for him and his family.
George is a wealthy comedy club owner with a side hustle in illegal organ harvesting that ties into the black market. George has a repulsively charming personality that gets people to trust him easily. George knows he’s high class, but his energy spills vile vibes that will be oblivious to others.
The Doctor is a medically licensed surgeon that is deep in debt and takes a side job of illegal harvesting organs to pay off his student loans from medical school. After doing the side job of organ harvesting for a while, he’s paid hid debt off, but the money is too good for him to stop.
The crowd consists of comedians and audience members that attends the Gentleman’s Laughter Competition. The comedians and crowd that just wanting to hear some good jokes are all on in the twisted nature of the club. Their goal is to help create an illusion for Martin, so that he keeps his guard down.
