"Weak" Student Short Film Casting Actors
Casting for an upcoming student short film "Weak". Looking for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the roles below. About the project: Synopsis - Dante (18) and his father, Jerry (36), have a hostile relationship in a house that doesn't give them much space. While eating lunch one afternoon, Jerry verbally abuses his son. Later that same afternoon, Dante refuses to help his father with the dishes, leading to a huge argument. Dante scolds his father for his bad parenting and how he treated his mother before she left him. Jerry internally understands, but his ego doesn’t allow him to take accountability, so Dante leaves his father to be on his own. It is revealed that this whole segment has been happening on a TV that a confused, younger version of Jerry (Early 20s) is watching. His wife Lori stands next to him, scolding him for his bad treatment toward her. Lori leaves their infant, Dante, to be with his father, and she leaves Jerry. Rate: Unpaid. Caucasian or Mixed. Scruffy, short tempered, naïve, in denial. Jerry shows no remorse for his actions, although he may internally have some. He wants his words to hurt at the moment but knows he may regret them later.
Caucasian or Mixed. Skinny, innocent, enduring. Dante allows his father to step on him and tries to avoid confrontation. He is patient, but only to a point. He bottles his emotions up, so when they finally burst out, he is very passionate with his words.
Caucasian or Mixed. Enduring, worn out, endearing. Lori understands that she can’t take care of Dante on her own. She has reached her breaking point with Jerry treating her poorly but is conflicted because she wants the best for Dante.
