Theater Casting Call for Production of "Hamlet"
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking performers for "Hamlet" play. More details are below. About the play: A fresh re-telling of Shakespeare's classic tragedy: Hamlet. 25 years ago, the queen of Denmark gave birth to a baby girl in a country that desperately needed a male heir. Hamlet, born a woman, is forced to disguise herself as a man in order to survive the cutthroat world she was born into. Now, in the wake of her father's sudden death and her mother's marriage to her uncle, Hamlet will need to find a way to navigate a court of murderous intrigue. Rate: Non union. Actors will receive an honorarium as well as a share of all profits. Additional information: Callbacks on March 9th. If you are unable to attend those times, let them know and directors will accommodate you if possible. Rehearsals and performances will take place from April 15th-June 7th on Tuesday/Friday evenings and Sunday late morning-afternoon, with 2 Wednesday evening rehearsals May 28th and June 4th.
