Singers Needed for "Sunday in the Park with George" Show
The company is holding auditions for "Sunday in the Park with George". Show and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Additional info: Auditionees should prepare 32 bars of a Sondheim or Bernstein song. Please bring a headshot and resume of list of previous experience to the audition. The first rehearsal will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025. Rehearsals typically will be held on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday evenings starting at 6:30 during the months of April, May and June. The show is scheduled to be performed June 13 and 14, 2025 at 7:30PM and Sunday, June 15, 2025 at 3PM. Please apply if interested.

In Act 1: Georges Seurat, a rather cold artist obsessed with his work at the cost of his personal life. Constantly troubled and borderline obsessive. Act 2: Seurat’s burnt-out descendant and inventor-sculpture searching for his purpose. In the end, he can use his connection to the past to find the meaning in a blank canvas. Vocal range: G#2 – Ab4
As Dot, Georges’ headstrong mistress and occasional model so discontent with their relationship that she eventually leaves him. Act 2: As Marie, she is George’s elderly wheelchair-bound grandmother who helps him connect to his artistry through her mother’s grammar book notes. Vocal range: E3 – D5
Georges’ mother. A cranky and rather demanding fixture in the park. She is able to find solace in nostalgia, and inspires Georges to find order in his art. Act 2 doubling as Blair Daniels, an art critic who once championed George’s work, but now wants him to create something new. Vocal range: F#3 – Eb5
A rival artist. Callous, critical, and ultimately shallow. He and Frieda engage in extramarital affairs. Act 2: Bob Greenberg is the museum director obsessed with keeping up with everything new. Vocal range: G2 – F4
Jules’ pampered wife. She is as snippy and snooty as her husband. In Act 2, Naomi is the composer of George’s Chromolume presentations. Vocal range: E3 – Eb5
The Old Lady’s attendant. She is calming and assertive. Act 2 doubling: Harriet Pawling, a wealthy patron of the arts. Vocal range: G3 – F4
A surly blue-collared, slovenly laborer with a dog. Act 2 doubling: Charles Redmond, a visiting art curator. Vocal range: Eb2 – Eb4
Two young shop girls, gossipy and flirtatious. Their friendship with each other is strained when they fight over the Soldier and his companion. In Act 2 they double as Elaine (George’s ex-wife) and a waitress. Vocal range: A3 – G5
Jules’s German coachman and Frieda’s husband. Disgruntled with his job. Act 2 doubling: Dennis, a technician that works with George on the Chromolume. Vocal range: B2 – G4
Jules and Yvonne’s cook and Franz’s wife. Caring and positive as a surrogate nanny to Louise. In Act 2 appears as Betty. Vocal range: G3 – F5
A French military man, polite and gentlemanly. Close with his companion, though he yearns for a separation. Act 2 doubling: Alex, an artist quite jealous of George’s success. Vocal range: A2 – F4
