Audition for Movie "Twice In A Lifetime"

LEAD. Rudy is a Caucasian young man who speaks in a British accent and is in his early thirties. He is a young professional in the medical field, but you wouldn’t guess that based on his demeanor. He is confident, sometimes annoyingly so, but has a heart of gold. Rudy seizes the best opportunities life presents him with and is not afraid to fight for what he wants. Although flawed, Rudy leads by example and embodies the essence of a true man.

LEAD. Xaila is an intelligent and poised dark-skinned beauty in her mid-twenties, who grew up in one of the African countries and carries that heritage with pride everywhere she goes. She is extremely close with her family, specifically her grandparents. Xaila appreciates the good things in life and has made sure she can provide for herself and her family. At times, she tends to be guarded in order to avoid getting hurt because she is a gentle soul.

SUPPORTING ROLE. Tre is an African-American man in her mid-thirties. He is Rudy’s best friend and neighbor. Tre speaks his mind regardless of whether it is necessary or not. Even if it might come across too harsh, Tre has the best intentions for doing so, as he is extremely loyal to his closest people and will do anything to protect their well-being. Tre comes from an urban background and embodies the 90s African-American culture. (?)

SUPPORTING ROLE. Edward is a proud grandfather and is there to support his only granddaughter through anything life throws at her. He cherishes the moments with Xaila more than anything else in the world, but he is not afraid to let Xaila know his direct, honest opinion; opening a new perspective for her. Edward is a source of wisdom and life lessons for her, thus making sure Xaila does not get into too much trouble with her gentle heart.

SUPPORTING ROLE. Miriam believes in the power of love and knows nothing in this world is impossible. Family means everything to her and she is always there to lend her precious granddaughter Xaila a helping hand or share invaluable advice whenever she needs it. Miriam has made some important choices in her youth that defined the course of her life.

SUPPORTING ROLE. Michael is an African-American male in his late twenties. The bitterness of losing Xaila has turned him into an extremely jealous ex who lets his anger define his actions. He is possessive, manipulative and has given into his dark side. He has, very obviously, a lot of healing to do and is not in a reasonable state of mind, trying to convince Xaila that Rudy is not the right man for him.
