A young woman who has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father. She is intelligent, fragile, and deeply conflicted about her own future.
Catherine’s father, a world-renowned mathematician who struggled with mental illness. His presence is felt throughout the play, even in death.
Catherine’s older sister, practical and organized. She is successful but has a strained relationship with Catherine due to their different personalities and priorities.
A former student of Robert’s and a mathematician himself. He is earnest, kind, and deeply curious, especially about Robert’s work and Catherine’s abilities.
