About the project: Xanadu is a one-act musical about hapless wannabe artist Sonny Malone and the intercession of ancient Greek Muse Clio. Intending to fulfill her duty as a Muse and hopefully be granted the mysterious gift of Xanadu, Clio disguises herself as Kira, the charming legwarmer-clad roller-skating Australian, and inspires Sonny to create a roller disco. As they both pursue this dream, Clio/Kira breaks several of Zeus’ rules and must decide what matters most: immortality, or love and art. A glitzy, campy, pastel roller-disco dream, this lighthearted comedy is chock-full of Electric Light Orchestra classics and references to the original 1980s Olivia Newton-John Xanadu flop, and it will certainly leave the audience rolling with laughter – and on skates!
