About the project: Logline: A renowned jazz musician faces an illness that makes him lose his senses. He isolates himself and reflects about his own life: what he has achieved vs. what he has lost. Rate: Non-Union. Compensation will be provided in the form of: paid transportation, catering (meals on set), credits and full copy of the short for actor's portfolio purpose. Lead. He is one of the most recognized jazz musicians of his generation. He is introspective, perfectionist, and passionate about his art, he distanced himself from people, prioritizing music above all, even to the point of abandoning his family. (If know how to play an instrument (Trumpet) good! But, it is not required).
This character has few/no lines. Darius's wife plays a significant role in his past. Although she doesn't have any spoken lines, her presence should have a strong impact, as she appears in scenes of past arguments that shape Darius's history when he decides to leave his family behind for his musician career.
