Equity Actors Audition for 2025 Season Shows

(mid-late 70s: ages 25 years over the course of the play) Jewish-American in the South. A proud, strong, and independent lady who is equal parts Southern and Jewish. A widow. Headstrong matriarch, intelligent, very capable and vibrant woman. At times, insufferable, and concerned with appearances. She lives, simultaneously, within and outside of the dominant Southern culture. She and her family have found financial and social success, to a point. Southern accent. "DRIVING MS. DAISY"

(Late 50s-Early 60s: ages 25 years over the course of the play). He was born on a farm in rural Georgia, didn’t attend school, and has worked as a driver for most of his life. He sees the best in everyone but isn’t shy about telling it like it is. Reads people and situations well. Hard-working. Trying to navigate through the system set up for him. Has lived his whole life in the South from late 1890's to 1948. Southern accent. "DRIVING MS. DAISY"

Boolie is Daisy’s son. He ages from 40 to 65 years old during the course of the play. Boolie is a Southern Jewish businessman who pays much more attention to fitting into his Southern culture than his Jewish one. He is busy and practical, not one for much sentimentality, and possesses an affable Southern charm. But he is also a loving and very devoted only child to Daisy, and caring towards his employees, including Hoke. Has a dry sense of humor and comic timing. "DRIVING MS. DAISY"

A free-spirited, passionate and independent woman. Sophie’s mother and the hardworking owner of the island’s taverna. Former lead singer of Donna and The Dynamo’s. "MAMMA MIA!"

Donna’s headstrong and romantic 20-year-old daughter. She is determined, bright and energetic. "MAMMA MIA!"

One of Donna’s best friends and former member of the Dynamos. She is an unmarried, funny writer of cookbooks. Ideally an actress with good timing and adept at physical comedy. "MAMMA MIA!"

One of Donna’s best friends and former member of the Dynamos. She is rich, sophisticated, acerbic and witty. She’s been married three times and is now enjoying the single life. "MAMMA MIA!"

One of Sophie’s potential fathers and former romantic partner of Donna’s. A divorced father of boys. He is a charming and successful architect who’s regretted leaving Donna for 20 years. "MAMMA MIA!"

(British) One of Sophie’s potential fathers and former romantic partner of Donna ’s. He is a wealthy and buttoned-up London banker attempting to reconnect with his wild and spontaneous younger self. "MAMMA MIA!"

(often Australian) One of Sophie’s potential fathers and former romantic partner of Donna’s. A world traveler and well-known writer with an adventurous, free-spirit and no-strings-attached lifestyle. "MAMMA MIA!"

Sophie’s handsome and madly in love fiancé. He left his career as a stockbroker to move to Greece. He is now helping Donna with renovations and refurbishments of the taverna. "MAMMA MIA!"

One of Sky’s best friends and a bartender, and general staff, at the taverna. He isenergetic, flirtatious, and sets his sights on Tanya. A great dancer. "MAMMA MIA!"

Another of Sky’s best friends. A waiter, boatman, and handyman at the taverna. "MAMMA MIA!"

ALI and LISA: Sophie’s bubbly and excited best friends who’ve traveled to be her bridesmaids. "MAMMA MIA!"

Male presenting. Singer/Guitar player to portray Elvis at the beginning of hiscareer. Charismatic and sexy, but boyish - still maintaining a bit of innocence. Able to play guitar and move like Elvis. However, not an impersonation. A truthful interpretation. "MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET"

Female presenting. An aspiring singer from Hollywood, and Elvis’s girlfriend. Smartand sexy with a great rock belt. She’s headstrong and tough, and typically doesn’t back down from a fight. Sings “Fever”. "MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET"

Male presenting. Excellent piano player and singer. Familiar with JerryLee’s signature style at the piano. Fun, energetic and in good physical shape. NOTE: Comedic skills a plus. "MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET"

Male presenting. Excellent guitar player and singer. Pioneer of rockabillymusic and best known for his song, “Blue Suede Shoes”. Tough and dangerous. A strong lead guitar player. "MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET"

Male presenting. Singer/guitar player. Familiar with Johnny Cash’s signature style and voice without it being an impersonation. A truthful interpretation. "MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET"

Male presenting. Has a wry sense of humor. Commands the stage as the charismatic narrator of the show. The owner of Sun Records, and the “Father of Rock and Roll”. Confident and charming, but tough with anyone who tries to cross him. "MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET"

Male presenting. An excellent bass player. Brother of Carl Perkins. Can perform “tricks” on the bass, and is in good physical shape. "MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET"
