About the project: Synopsis: A young woman reaches her breaking point after enduring a toxic relationship for too long. The story follows her spiral into madness in a tense, emotional narrative. Rate: Non-Union. $20 Stipend + Pizza and Drinks. Extras (Volunteer). Additional information: Independent Mini Short Film (Student Film) 5-6 mins. Location: Montreal, QC. Project Title: Crimson Escape/With Blood and Smoke. Project Type: Drama/Psychological Thriller/Experimental. Filming Dates: 1-3 days, early February, specific dates and time TBD. Nathan, Ruby's boyfriend, is outwardly charming, yet dismissive, with burst of anger and aggression. Abusive, yet delusional about his own nature. Lacks real empathy.
Seasoned officer with an authoritative demeanor.
Rookie cop, recently assigned as policeman #1's partner.
While not a outrightly a bad person, he enables his friend's negative behavior by turning a blind eye. Deeply, he feels bad about Ruby's situation, but he's too much of a coward to do anything about it.
A girl's girl, she notices Ruby's distress and offers her help.
