Seeking Performers for Two Upcoming Productions
One-act comedies by the creators of Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh are currently in search of performers. Please, see the details below. About the plays: "The Twelve-Pound Look" play. In the Twelve-Pound Look author Barrie poses the question: Can a Woman have it all? Can she be a wife, a mother, a lover? Can she have a career and a sense of personal fulfillment all within the confines of marriage. "Wurzel-Flummery" play. In this political satire Milne asks: If every man has his price, what is yours? Tempted with an anonymous gift of 50,000.00 pounds Robert Crawshaw MP has to decide the price he is willing to pay. Could he sacrifice his morals and political beliefs? Could he change his historic family name to…Wurzel-Flummery! Additional information: Production dates: May 22 to June 7, 2025. Matinées: May 31 and June 7 at 2:00 pm. Audition Venue: North Vancouver. Various roles are available and those cast will appear in both productions.

"The Twelve-Pound Look" play. Sir Harry is a self-made man. On the day he is to receive the honor of knighthood, everything goes wrong just when everything seems to be superlatively right. Worst of all it is a woman who does mischief. She comes to him in his great hour and tells him that she does not admire him.
"The Twelve-Pound Look" play. Lady Sims is Harry’s much younger wife. Lady Sims is the beautiful adornment to Harry’s perfect existance. While she is envied by others, her Ladyship has a niggling feeling that there must be more to life.
"The Twelve-Pound Look" play. A typist from “The Flora Typewriting Agency”. Kate is the epitome of the professional. Kate came prepared for anything except a chance meeting with her former husband Harry. Old wounds are opened as Kate and Harry see each other for the first time since she left the note telling him she was running off with another man. In the era when you were either a daughter, wife or an old maid. Kate finds a new role, that of an independent woman.
"The Twelve-Pound Look" play. The perfect Butler. Tombes is very much the “Upstairs” in this Upstairs, Downstairs world. Tombes will also act as our narrator introducing us to Harry Sims and his world.
"Wurzel-Flummery" play. A career politician in striped pants and morning-coat, Robert is confident of not only his place in the world but that of everyone else. Tempted with a gift of 50,000.00 pounds he must find a way to convince himself that taking the money is really what is best for all.
"Wurzel-Flummery" play. Richard is a newly minted MP. Not yet a career politician, he is the polar opposite of Robert Crawshaw in all things, except the love of Robert's daughter Viola. The young lovers must keep their feelings a secret until the time Richard can “keep” Viola in the style to which she is accustomed.
"Wurzel-Flummery" play. Smart and practical, Viola is very much in love with Richard Meriton. The only thing that stands in the way of her and Richard's happiness is her father. Not only does her father dislike Richard's politics but he is poor and her father hates poor people!
"Wurzel-Flummery" play. Margaret has been in love with Robert Crawshaw for twenty-five years, the last twenty-four years from habit. You would certainly call her a dear, but you might sometimes call her a poor dear.
"Wurzel-Flummery" play. Denise became a lawyer in an age when few young women were educated beyond finishing school. But what she really wants to be is a playwright. Denise sees the world as if it were a stage making up the characters and giving them names like .. Wurzel-Flummery.
