Actors Needed for "Once On This Island" Play Audition
Males and females are required for the upcoming theatre show "Once On This Island". Find more details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: It’s a fable as old as time – Ti Moune, a peasant girl, rescues a wealthy boy from the other side of the island, Daniel, and promptly falls in love. As in such stories, the gods and goddesses who preside over the island meddle with Ti Moune and make a bet with one another over which is stronger – love or death. She bargains with the Gods for his life, but to do so she must make the ultimate sacrifice. Told with Caribbean rhythms and instruments, this Tony Award-winning musical is a testament that a beautiful story simply told has the power to inspire all. Rate: Actors will be paid a stipend of $150 at the end of the run of performances. Additional info: What To Prepare A monologue and a song of your choosing, no longer than 2 minutes per piece. Please also prepare a contrasting monologue and/or song in the case that we would like to see it. Callbacks: January 29th from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. Rehearsals will be on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, within the range of 6 p.m – 10 p.m. Student actors will be released by 9 p.m, unless specifically requested ONCE ON THIS ISLAND Important Dates – First Rehearsal – February 18th Saturday 9 to 5 – April 19th Tech Week – April 28th – May 1st.
