About the project: This film follows Greta during her brief visit to Montreal as she reckons with her religion and her sexuality at a costume party she did not expect. Will she find a way to accept the way women make her feel or will she fall prey to the dangers of the closet? Rate: Union/Non-Union. All meals will be provided with a 100$-200$ honorarium for lead actors. Additional information: "In The Closet" is a thesis film shooting this February which aims to honour a queer coming-out story. Themes: adult experiences, alcoholism, drug use, sexual assault). Shooting February 2025. Accepting applications until January 5th 2025. Young-looking feminine biracial woman. Greta has tired eyes and bites her nails until there's nothing left to bite. She is pretty in a strange, sombre way. Greta is hypervigilant and she's very good at faking a smile. She is not, however, very good at getting close to people. She believes god is always watching over her so she tries not to look at women for too long....
Young stylish biracial man Hansel has well moisturized skin and mischievous eyes. On any given day of the week or month he knows where in the city to go to find his type of men and his type of music he refuses to settle for that mainstream bullshet. He has a critique next week and his 4ft by 6ft painting is not yet finished and his dear cousin La coming to visit.
Stylish French Canadian lesbian. Alice is a witty, ex-punk lesbian studying Studio Art at Concordia University. She is tired of her spacious apartment and her scripted-feeling conversations with her art school friends. She has reached a point where she stares at her manicured, ring- cluttered hands and wonders why she doesn't recognize them any more. Maybe Montreal is starting to feel too small for her or maybe she should just quit smoking again.
French Canadian man. Chrétien (he/him) is a francophone DJ who plans to move to Paris once his music career takes off. His music draws influence from house and postpunk and even Midwest emo. Chrétien was born and raised in Montreal he grew up in Laval and then moved downtown after finishing CEGEP to study music at Concordia. Chrétien works at the Department of Music's Equipment Depot, and meets all kinds of interesting people there.
Female (or Nonbinary). A stylish masc lesbian dressed as a cowboy who is finishing a degree in studio art at Concordia University. Charlotte is a prolific, polyamorous lesbian who is always on the move between lovers, art exhibitions, classes, and niche parties. A self- proclaimed 'renaissance man, as well as Hansel's best friend and roommate nobody really gets what Charlotte is trying to do, but whatever the fuck it is, it's very inspired and vexingly alluring.
Male (or Nonbinary). A tall twink painter named Michel who lives with Alice and works as a freelance painter. Michel doesn't care about many people save for a close family- like friend group which inspires him to live with everything he's got. He would never admit it but Alice is the most important person to him in this world and they've been inseparable since they met in CEGEP.
