About the project: When Kendi and Nat were 12 years old (2014), Barack Obama was still president of the United States, Instagram, and Snapchat had just been released, and the video of 12-year-old Tamir Rice being killed by police virtualized the burgeoning Black Lives Matter movement. Kendi and Nat met in 7th grade, navigating a rapidly escalating America as queer Black and Brown girls. Natalia, the only Mexican in the suburbs of Irvine, California (or so it felt), found identity in the digital world. Kendi, the firstborn of five, was born in Atlanta and bred in Brooklyn - moving in step to frenzied city life. At 21 years old (2022), Kendi and Nat are struggling film students in New York City who’ve just been offered the chance to write a television series about their tumultuous upbringings. Rate: All roles are unpaid! Directors are offering credits, meals, access to stills from the pilot for your portfolio, and a positive set experience! Despite this, Claudia remains strong and determined, doing her best to keep everything balanced, even when it feels overwhelming.

Though he struggles and longs for help, he maintains a gentle demeanor that contrasts with the harshness of his situation, earning him the respect and compassion of those who encounter him.
Description: Chance, Nat's father, is a self-assured man of the house who commands authority and power within the family. He tends to distance himself from the emotional needs of his children which ends up being a concern left for his wife to manage alone. Due to this, he struggles in his marriage and does not have the closest relationship with his kids.
Description: Tae is Kendi's sister, 2 years older but immature and inexperienced in comparison to her younger sister.
