Acting Audition in a Short Film "At a Loss"
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. Casting actors who will play roles in production of "At a Loss". More details are below. About the project: Two poor, orphaned siblings struggle to afford the entrance fee for an art competition. Rate: Non-Union. Paid (Low Budget, TBD). An art teacher at an esteemed academy, Mrs. Ambrose is a snooty, judgmental woman who only values artwork she considers sophisticated and high-brow. Similarly, she prefers her students to be refined and well-bred, looking down on applicants she considers “low class.” Her motivation is to protect the prestige and reputation of the academy and to uphold her standards for what “real” art is.
Male or Non-Binary. A patronizing, detail-obsessed comic book store employee, Floyd is an expert at appraising the value of rare comics. Meticulous and pedantic, he has a tendency to unintentionally annoy customers who visit the store. Although condescending and proud of his specialized knowledge, he strives to be fair and honest in his business dealings. It is important to him to protect comic book fandom from “fake” fans.
