"Hot Jambalaya" Audition for the Theater

Atlanta, GA, United States
ID: 275709Exp: 12/15/2024
Description:

Seeking performers for the "Hot Jambalaya" show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Hot Jambalaya is a new musical written by Travis Sharp and Matt Hobbs. Taking place on a decrepit riverboat setting sail from New Orleans in 1923, local fatcat Papa Joe Van Horn is dead of mysterious circumstances. Only seven mourners have shown up for the detested bigwig’s funeral at sea. Passengers include the loud, fur-draped widow; the weird adult daughter with her talking doll; and her mysterious and flamboyant twin Teddy—back from the Far East. Also on board are the amorous French captain, a violent New Orleans chef, notorious journalist “Little Miss Murder,” and our unlikely hero—disgraced former detective (and freelance pianist) Benny Broussard. Throughout the fast-paced musical farce bodies pile up, shocking secrets are unveiled, and everyone aboard reveals their opportunity, means, and motive to kill. By the roller-coaster end, our detective discovers the Van Horn family’s dark past, uncovers the killer, and even finds unexpected (but tragic) love.
