Theatre Audition for "The Emperor's New Clothes " Show

The company is holding auditions for "The Emperor's New Clothes " show and looking for performers, please see the details below. Additional info: This show is for our touring Reading is Alive production. Actors will have a two week rehearsal process; the show is around 25 minutes. There are 12 performances at different venues in Yancey, Mitchell, and Avery counties throughout the summer. Dates TBA, but first performance is usually mid-June. First Rehearsal: Sunday, June 1, 2025 Rehearsal Times: Sunday-Thursday, 6:30-9:30; Saturday 10-2; two week rehearsal process Performances: 12 performances in Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey counties, performances run mid-June through early August. Please come prepared with a one-minute monologue (not necessarily from the show being cast), 32 bars of sheet music for an accompanist for a musical audition (musical pieces from the show we are casting are acceptable, but not required), a resume, and a headshot. If you’re new to performing and don’t have the above items, no worries! Just come prepared to read sides. Sides are excerpts from the script.
