Talent Needed for "Matilda The Musical"
Theatrical show "Matilda The Musical" is now looking for performers. Please see the details below. Additional info: Please prepare at least one monologue attached. Review the musical selections attached for the role(s) you wish to audition for. Auditions will involve singing, bookwork, and dancing. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Candidates must complete a printed audition form and return it to the production team. Download the form attached to complete and print ahead of time, hard copies will also be available at the audition. Candidates will receive an audition number and are required to have their photo taken upon arrival. Please have your scheduling conflicts available. Candidates should review the audition materials and come prepared to perform as an individual and in group work. Performers should be prepared for 3-4 rehearsals per week (often 6:30 pm-9 pm on weekdays, and a weekend day). A detailed rehearsal schedule will be published once the cast has been finalized. Male-presenting, Female-presenting, or All Genders. The tyrannical headmistress at Matilda's school who despises children. Can be portrayed by a male-presenting actor in female clothing, makeup, and hair, or a female-presenting actor. A cruel, sadistic individual, but not brash; sly, conniving, and cunning. Above all, must be a strong actor with excellent physicality and characterization. Strong singer and dancer preferred. Vocal range top: G4 Vocal range bottom: A2
Female-presenting. Matilda's kindhearted teacher, tired of living in fear under Miss Trunchbull. Sweet, honest, caring, and intelligent, Miss Honey is timid but becomes brave when standing up to bullies to protect students. Must be a lovely, strong singer and a strong enough actor to make the role compelling. Vocal range top: D5 Vocal range bottom: F3
