About the project: SYNOPSIS: “In Your Head” centers on Alex, a librarian who has constant struggles with self-doubt that are characterized by a ghostly version of himself that only he can see which points out all his faults and awkwardness. When his closest friend and brother passes away Alex has no choice but to work against his anxiety to give the eulogy at his funeral. With the help of his coworkers will Alex be able to finally stand against his anxiety and honor his brother? Rate: Unpaid position. Food will be provided. Additional info: Production location: South Portland, ME; Non-union; Filming dates: March 14th, 2025 - March 23rd,d 2025. Audition materials will be accepted until December 6th, 2024. Alex is a very shy twenty something with a love for reading. He is tormented by the Inner Voice, a ghost-like copy of himself that constantly follows him around. Alex tries to keep to himself as much as possible but feels a new sense of determination to honor his brother with a eulogy, despite how terrified he is to read it aloud. The Inner Voice is a role that would be played by the same actor and is a meanly sarcastic force that likes to taunt Alex.
Mason, Alex’s older brother is the only person he really feels comfortable around. He has long suffered from a heart condition but stays positive and has a good sense of humor. He loves his brother and believes he can get past his self doubt.
Mary is a fellow young librarian with a passion for art and an expressive sense of style. She has a knack for talking with visitors to the library and feels for Alex’s loss due to having several close siblings herself.
Beth is a regular visitor of the library Alex works at and brushes against him often. She is a picky, impatient woman and is the kind of person Alex has the hardest time interacting with
