Casting call for a January 2025 student film called "Eve of the Zeitgeist", please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: In "Eve of the Zeitgeist," Eve returns home to her Midwestern family from New York with her unconventional friend, Alex. Tensions arise as her traditional family grapples with her changes. Eve must navigate these challenges to reconcile her past and present. Rate: This is an unpaid role however copy and IMDB credits will be given. Additional info: The film will be about 15-20 mins long and will be shot in the Twin Cities on the weekend of January 10th 2025. Please apply if interested.

Relation: Daughter / Sister Description: Truthsayer. Stubborn and angry. After her first semester away at college, Eve is back home for the holidays and no longer feels comfortable with her family’s values. She feels as though she has something to prove, which is why she brings along her transgender friend Alex and argues with her family about their morals. She pushes Marianne too far and is blamed for ruining the evening, however, she ultimately swallows her pride and accepts defeat.

Relation: Friend of Eve’s Description: Transgender (Female to Male). Kind and light-hearted. Despite slights directed at him from Eve’s family, he maintains his cool for the most part. As someone who grew up as an orphan, what’s worse for Alex than people who disrespect his whole being is being alone on Christmas. He ends up apologizing even though he shouldn’t have to.

Relation: Mother Description: Narcissist. She blames Eve for separating the family when it is really her narcissistic tendencies that drives everyone mad and therefore apart. She has wanted her family to be together ever since Eve left home, and makes her children feel bad for arguing during Christmas dinner.

Relation: Son / Brother Description: Golden son. Teacher. He kisses up to his parents, doing everything to be seen as good in their eyes. What he really wants is to be loved. He is trapped by his circumstances, and therefore he’ll do anything for his parents. He is made to feel ashamed for ruining Christmas dinner even though he stands up for his parents. Lines: “What does she think she’s doing bringing home a boy?” / “I know, Dad. I'm trying.”

Relation: Father Description: Tired and removed. He submits to whatever Marianne says because he’s too exhausted to go against her anymore. He restores normalcy because he can’t begin to think about the way his family is being torn apart. Lines: “I figured I was the last to know anything.” / “Your mother has a point. If you didn’t want to work while you were in school, you should’ve gone in-state.
