Equity actors for roles in "Giovanni's Room". See breakdown below. About the project: A world premiere adaptation by Benjamin Sprunger and Paul Oakley Stovall. Rate: SPT $670 weekly minimum (SPT 7) Additional info: Audition break: 2:00PM - 3:00 PM PREPARATION Sides will be provided for all roles the morning of the audition. Please also prepare a mid-century American monologue. Please bring your headshot and resume stapled together. First Rehearsal: April 30 Tech: May 22 – 25 Opening Night: June 7 Closing: June 29 EPA Procedures are in effect for this audition. An Equity Monitor will be provided. A 20 something all-American with blond hair looking to find himself in Europe. Uses his charm and intelligence to borrow money in order to continue living in Paris. While his girlfriend is away in Spain, he has a love affair with Giovanni.

Actor 2 – GiovanniMale20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

A 20 something Italian emigree working as a bartender in a gay bar. Wandered to Paris after the still born birth of his first child. Emotional, dark, with a biting wit.

Actor 3 - Hella/SueFemale20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

David’s longtime girlfriend. A 20 something American woman, effervescent, well-read, modern, and stylish looking to find herself in Europe. / A lonely American ex-patriot and contemporary of David’s.

Actor 4 - Jacques/DadMale45-60 y.o.All ethnicities

A wealthy, gay, middle-aged, Belgian-born businessman. Infatuated with David, humorous, insightful, and overwhelmed by loneliness and self-pity. / An all-American dad who struggles with alcohol, women, and being a good father.

Actor 5 – GuillaumeMale45-60 y.o.All ethnicities

A middle-aged descendent of an aristocratic French family. The flamboyant and manipulative owner of the Parisian gay bar where Giovanni works.

Actor 6 - Caretaker/Clothilde/Aunt EllenFemale45-60 y.o.All ethnicities

A middle-aged Provencal house keeper / an infamous Parisian restauranteur and de facto godmother to Giovanni / David’s aunt, a middle-aged, middle class American woman, opinionated, judgmental, with a blunt demeanor.
