Singing Audition for "A Year With Frog and Toad" Show
The company is holding auditions for "A Year With Frog and Toad" and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Based on Arnold Lobel's well-loved books, and featuring a hummable score by Robert and Willie Reale, this whimsical show follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special. A fun musical for the whole family. Additional info: What to prepare for the audition: Arrive on time and plan to stay for the duration Prepare a short selection to sing (a minute or less) which display's your vocal range (either a cappella, or provide your own music/track via phone, music player, etc.) You will do cold readings from the script No dancing will be done at auditions (though you will have to dance in the show!) Tech week: January 27-30. Show days: Feb. 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 (7pm), 9, (2pm), 13, 14, 15 (7pm, 16 (2pm). Rehearsals are *tentatively* planned for Monday - Thursday, 5:30-7:30pm (*subject to change based on cast schedules and conflicts) A rough rehearsal schedule may be available at auditions. Vocal range: A3-A6. Caring and loyal. Always looking out for his friends. The calmer, more zen of both he and Toad. Simultaneously adventurous and assured.
Vocal range: A3-A5. A hard worker, but impatient for results. Self-conscious. Stubborn. A good friend to Frog. Timid.
Vocal Range: A3-B5. Must possess the blind determination of a nerdy snail and the "cool kid" attitude of a slick lizard. Appears as MAN BIRD, SNAIL, LIZARD, FATHER FROG, and MOLE.
Vocal Range: A3-A5. Must possess the playful and quirky personality of a lady bird and strong frenetic energy of a squirrel. Appears as LADY BIRD 1, MOUSE, SQUIRREL, YOUNG FROG, and MOLE.
Vocal Range: A3-A5. Must possess the playful and quirky personality of a lady bird and strong frenetic energy of a squirrel. Appears as LADY BIRD 2, TURTLE, SQUIRREL, MOTHER FROG, and MOLE.
